Game Creation Society is a student-run organization at Carnegie Mellon University, dedicated to the art and science of making games. Composed of individuals from all across the academic spectrum, GCS provides an environment for people of various disciplines to work together on projects as they would in a real development environment. Whatever your talents are, if you are interested in making games we can find a role for you!

If you want to get involved, come to a weekly meeting, join our mailing list, or contact an officer!

Pitch Fair

Hey ya'll! We had a meeting! Ben Sand came from Brainworth to talk about a new community-sourced game platform for teaching programming skills. Then we had project pitches:

Projects
Galactic Trail
Lead: Mark Slabinski
Short (10-15 min play time), Open Art Style, Oregon Trail style gameplay with an added layer of character on top of it.

LaserFlank

Colored circles bouncing around the screen, try to toggle them all using simultaneously firing lasers. Lots of options for expansion from the core concept. (4 hours a week, 1-2 months dev time)

Outfit Swap / Outfitter
Lead: Rosstin Mu
Swap outfits with NPCs to work your way from lowly hobo to President of the United States. HTML5 mobile game, portfolio material.

The Sheep Punching Game (Bleat Beater)

Cram Session and Release

We'll be having a last-minute pre-release cram session on Thursday at 6 PM in the alumni lounge in the UC. It'll go until everyone has left.

Release will be Friday at 4:30pm, so definitely have a working build by then! And project leaders, be ready to deliver a post-mortem about your project.
